The public information team will post weekly updates and lane closures/traffic information to help the community get around the construction. 

Week of November 17, 2017 to November 24, 2017 

NW 170 Street to South of Miramar Parkway (Segment A & B)

  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to NW 170 Street will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. 
  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Miramar Parkway will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.    
  • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • One southbound lane of Florida’s Turnpike from Red Road to the I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. 
  • One northbound lane of Florida’s Turnpike from I-75 Interchange to Red Road will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One southbound lane of Florida’s Turnpike from I-75 Interchange to Okeechobee Road will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One northbound lane of Florida’s Turnpike from Okeechobee Road to I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One northbound ramp lane of Florida’s Turnpike from Okeechobee Road to I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. 
  • One southbound ramp lane of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. 
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to NW 170 Street will be closed daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Three southbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida’s Turnpike may be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida’s Turnpike may be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Three northbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida’s Turnpike may be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • All northbound lanes of I-75 between NW 138 Street (Exit 2) and Miami Gardens Drive (Exit 4) will be closed Sunday, November 19 and Monday, November 20 between 11:59 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to take the NW 138 Street exit (Exit 2), head south on Hialeah Gardens Blvd. to NW 130 Street, East on NW 130 Street to NW 87 Avenue, north on NW 87 Avenue to Miami Gardens Drive, and west on Miami Gardens Drive to take the northbound entrance ramp of I-75. Please follow the posted detour. 

South of Miramar Parkway to South of Sheridan Street (Segment C)

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to North of Miramar Parkway will be closed daily between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for median work.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to North of Miramar Parkway will be closed daily between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for median work.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Pines Boulevard to North Pines Boulevard will be closed daily between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Pines Boulevard North of Pines Boulevard to will be closed daily between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Pines Boulevard to North of Pines Boulevard will be closed nightly between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Pines Boulevard to North of Pines Boulevard will be closed nightly between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to South of Pines Boulevard will be closed nightly between 8 p.m. and 3 p.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to South of Pines Boulevard will be closed daily between 10 a.m. and 7 a.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed daily between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed daily between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed nightly between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed nightly between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One lane of Miramar Parkway from west of I-75 to east of I-75 will be closed nightly between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. for roadway construction.
  • Three northbound lanes of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar Parkway will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Three southbound lanes of I-75 from north of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed nightly from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road (Segment D)

  • One northbound and one southbound lane of I-75 from South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road will be closed daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. as the contractor continues to work in this area. 
  • Two northbound or two southbound lanes of I-75 from South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as the contractor continues to work in this area.
  • The I-75 northbound exit ramp to westbound Sheridan Street may be closed Sunday, November 26 through Thursday, November 30 between11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to exit at Sheridan Street East, continue east on Sheridan Street to Flamingo Road and make a U-turn at Flamingo Road to continue west. Please follow the posted detour.
  • The I-75 southbound exit ramp to eastbound Sheridan Street (Exit 11) may be closed Sunday, November 26 through Thursday, November 30 between 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to exit at westbound Sheridan Street, continue west on Sheridan Street to SW 162 Avenue and make a U-turn at SW 162 Avenue to continue east. Please follow the posted detour.
  • Two eastbound or two westbound lanes of Sheridan Street may be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. as the contractor continues to work in this area.
  • The I-75 northbound exit ramp to westbound Griffin Road (Exit 13B) will be closed Sunday, November 26 through Thursday, November 30 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to exit at Sheridan Street East (Exit 11), continue east on Sheridan Street to Flamingo Road and north on Flamingo Road to Griffin Road. Please follow the posted detour.
  • The I-75 northbound entrance ramp from Sheridan Street will be closed nightly Sunday, November 19 through Tuesday, November 21 between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorists traveling eastbound on Sheridan Street will be detoured east on Sheridan Street to Flamingo Road, then north on Flamingo Road to Griffin Road and west on Griffin Road to take the I-75 northbound entrance ramp. Please follow the posted detour. Motorists traveling westbound on Sheridan Street will be detoured west on Sheridan Street to Flamingo Road, then north on Flamingo Road to Griffin Road and west on Griffin Road to take the I-75 northbound entrance ramp. Please follow the posted detour.

North of Griffin Road to I-595 in Broward County (Segment E) 

  • Two northbound and two southbound lanes of I-75 from South Post Road to Indian Trace will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Construction Lane Closures/Detours​

FDOT will make every effort to minimize impacts to motorists on the road, but it will be necessary to close travel lanes at various times and locations to complete the project-related work safely.  The lane closures will be subject to change based on weather or unforeseen circumstances and will be posted regularly for the community.

In general accordance with local noise ordinances, construction activities including demolition, pile driving, and sheet pile driving shall not occur during the following time periods:

  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM weekdays
  • 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM weekends

Additionally, ground mounted sound barrier wall installation shall not occur during the following time periods:

  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM weekdays
  • 7:00 PM Friday to 7:00 AM Monday

Tips on Getting Around During Construction

  • Allow For Extra Travel Time – Allow more time to reach your destination due to detours and lane closures

  • Buckle Up - Wearing a safety belt is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes
  • Pay Close Attention – Signs and work zone flaggers save lives
  • Turn on Your Headlights – Workers and other motorists must see you
  • Don’t Tailgate – Unexpected stops frequently occur in work zones
  • Don’t Speed – Note the posted speed limits in and around the work zone
  • Keep up With the Traffic Flow – Dedicate your full attention to the roadway and those traveling around you
  • Don’t Change Lanes in the Work Zone – The time saved just isn’t worth it
  • Minimize Distractions – Avoid changing radio stations and using cellular phones while driving in the work zone
  • Expect the Unexpected – Keep an eye out for workers and their equipment
  • Be Patient – Remember the work zone crewmembers are working to improve your future ride.
