Week of September 22, 2017 to September 29, 2017

NW 170 Street to South of Miramar Parkway (Segment A & B)

  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to NW 170 Street will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.
  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.
  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28. 
  • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Miramar Parkway will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.    
  • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28. 
  • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28. 
  • One southbound lane of Florida’s Turnpike from Red Road to the I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.   
  • One northbound lane of Florida’s Turnpike from I-75 Interchange to Red Road will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.  
  • One southbound lane of Florida’s Turnpike from I-75 Interchange to Okeechobee Road will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.  
  • One northbound lane of Florida’s Turnpike from Okeechobee Road to I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.  
  • One northbound ramp lane of Florida’s Turnpike from Okeechobee Road to I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.      
  • One southbound ramp lane of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.    
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28. 
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to NW 170 Street will be closed from daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28. 
  • Three southbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.
  • Three northbound lane of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Miramar Parkway will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.
  • The Bass Creek Bridge between SW 160 Avenue/Dykes Road and SW 148 Avenue will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Friday, September 29. Motorists east of Bass Creek Bridge will be detoured east on SW 48 Court/Bass Creek Road to SW 148 Avenue, north on SW 148 Avenue to Miramar Parkway, west on Miramar Parkway to SW 160 Avenue/Dykes Road, and south on SW 160 Avenue/Dykes Road to re-enter SW 48 Court/Bass Creek Road. Motorists west of Bass Creek Bridge will be detoured west on SW 48 Court/Bass Creek Road to SW 160 Avenue/Dykes Road, north on SW 160 Avenue/Dykes Road to Miramar Parkway, east on Miramar Parkway to SW 148 Avenue, and south on SW 148 Avenue to re-enter SW 48 Court/Bass Creek Road. Please follow posted detour.

South of Miramar Parkway to South of Sheridan Street (Segment C)

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to North of Miramar Parkway will be closed daily between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for median work.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to North of Miramar Parkway will be closed daily between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for median work.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Pines Boulevard to North Pines Boulevard will be closed daily between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Pines Boulevard North of Pines Boulevard to will be closed daily between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Pines Boulevard to North of Pines Boulevard will be closed nightly between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Pines Boulevard to North of Pines Boulevard will be closed nightly between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to South of Pines Boulevard will be closed nightly between 8 p.m. and 3 p.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to South of Pines Boulevard will be closed daily between 10 a.m. and 7 a.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed daily between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed daily between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed nightly between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed nightly between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for median or roadway construction.
  • One lane of Miramar Parkway from west of I-75 to east of I-75 will be closed nightly between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. for roadway construction.

South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road (Segment D)

  • One One northbound and one southbound lane of I-75 from South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road will be closed daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. as the contractor continues to work in this area.
  • Two northbound or two southbound lanes of I-75 from South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as the contractor continues to work in this area.
  • The I-75 northbound exit ramp to westbound Sheridan Street (Exit 11B) may be closed nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28. Motorist will be detoured to exit at Sheridan Street East (Exit 11A), continue east on Sheridan Street to Flamingo Road and make a U-turn at Flamingo Road to continue west. Please follow the posted detour.
  • The I-75 southbound exit ramp to eastbound Sheridan Street (Exit 11) may be closed nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.Motorists will be detoured to exit at westbound Sheridan Street, continue west on Sheridan Street to SW 162 Avenue and make a U-turn at SW 162 Avenue to continue east. Please follow the posted detour.
  • One eastbound and one westbound lane of Sheridan Street may be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. as the contractor continues to work in this area.
  • Two eastbound or two westbound lanes of Sheridan Street may be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. as the contractor continues to work in this area.
  • Three southbound lanes of I-75 from North of Griffin Road to South of Sheridan Street will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. as the contractor continues to work in this area.
  • Three northbound lanes of I-75 from North of Griffin Road to South of Sheridan Street will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. as the contractor continues to work in this area.
  • The I-75 northbound exit ramp to westbound Griffin Road (Exit 13B) will be closed intermittently Sunday, September 24 through Thursday, September 29 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to exit at Sheridan Street East (Exit 11), continue east on Sheridan Street to Flamingo Road and north on Flamingo Road to Griffin Road and head west. Please follow the posted detour.
  • The I-75 southbound exit ramp to eastbound Griffin Road (Exit 13A) will be closed intermittently Sunday, September 24 through Thursday, September 29 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.  Motorists will be detoured to exit at Griffin Road West (Exit 13B), continue west on Griffin Road to Dykes Road and make a U-turn at Dykes Road to continue east. Please follow the posted detour.

North of Griffin Road to I-595 in Broward County (Segment E) 

  • Two northbound and two southbound lanes of I-75 from South Post Road to Indian Trace will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Sunday, September 24 and ending Thursday, September 28.

Construction Lane Closures/Detours​

FDOT will make every effort to minimize impacts to motorists on the road, but it will be necessary to close travel lanes at various times and locations to complete the project-related work safely.  The lane closures will be subject to change based on weather or unforeseen circumstances and will be posted regularly for the community.

In general accordance with local noise ordinances, construction activities including demolition, pile driving, and sheet pile driving shall not occur during the following time periods:

  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM weekdays
  • 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM weekends

Additionally, ground mounted sound barrier wall installation shall not occur during the following time periods:

  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM weekdays
  • 7:00 PM Friday to 7:00 AM Monday

Tips on Getting Around During Construction

  • Allow For Extra Travel Time – Allow more time to reach your destination due to detours and lane closures

  • Buckle Up - Wearing a safety belt is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes
  • Pay Close Attention – Signs and work zone flaggers save lives
  • Turn on Your Headlights – Workers and other motorists must see you
  • Don’t Tailgate – Unexpected stops frequently occur in work zones
  • Don’t Speed – Note the posted speed limits in and around the work zone
  • Keep up With the Traffic Flow – Dedicate your full attention to the roadway and those traveling around you
  • Don’t Change Lanes in the Work Zone – The time saved just isn’t worth it
  • Minimize Distractions – Avoid changing radio stations and using cellular phones while driving in the work zone
  • Expect the Unexpected – Keep an eye out for workers and their equipment
  • Be Patient – Remember the work zone crewmembers are working to improve your future ride.
