Current and Upcoming Lane Closures

The public information team will post weekly updates and lane closures/traffic information to help the community get around the construction. 

Week of February 23, 2018 to March 2, 2018

NW 170 Street to South of Miramar Parkway (Segments A & B)

  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to NW 170 Street will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. The northbound lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. The northbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the southbound lanes will from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1 from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Florida’s Turnpike from Red Road to the I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.  
  • One lane in each direction of Florida’s Turnpike from I-75 Interchange to Okeechobee Road will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One northbound ramp lane of Florida’s Turnpike from Okeechobee Road to I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One southbound ramp lane of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.  
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed daily Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The southbound on-ramp to I-75 from westbound Miami Gardens Drive will be closed 10 p.m. Tuesday, February 27 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 28. During this time, motorists wishing to take the southbound on-ramp to I-75 from westbound Miami Gardens Drive will be detoured to head south on NW 87 Avenue to NW 130 Street, west on NW 130 Street to Hialeah Gardens Boulevard, and north on Hialeah Gardens Boulevard to take the southbound on-ramp to I-75.

South of Miramar Parkway to South of Sheridan Street (Segment C)                                                  

  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to North of Miramar Parkway will be closed Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. The northbound lane will be closed nightly from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from South of Pines Boulevard to North Pines Boulevard will be closed daily Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. The northbound lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from South of Pines Boulevard to North of Pines Boulevard will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. The northbound lane will be closed from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to South of Pines Boulevard will be closed Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. The northbound lane will be closed from 8 p.m. to 3 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 7 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed daily Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. The northbound lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. The northbound lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Miramar Parkway from west of I-75 to east of I-75 will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road (Segment D)

  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road will be closed Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. The northbound lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road will be closed nightly Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1 from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Sheridan Street will be closed daily Sunday, February 25 through Thursday, March 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of Sheridan Street may be closed Sunday night, February 18 through Thursday night, February 22 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

North of Griffin Road to I-595 in Broward County (Segment E)

  • Advance Notice: The entrance ramp from eastbound I-595 into the express lanes, located west of SW 136 Avenue, will be closed continuously for seven days from 4 a.m. Saturday, March 3 through 4 a.m. Saturday, March 10. During this time motorists wishing to use the express lanes should continue east on I-595 to the express lane entrance ramp just east of SW 136 Avenue.

Construction Lane Closures/Detours​

FDOT will make every effort to minimize impacts to motorists on the road, but it will be necessary to close travel lanes at various times and locations to complete the project-related work safely.  The lane closures will be subject to change based on weather or unforeseen circumstances and will be posted regularly for the community.

In general accordance with local noise ordinances, construction activities including demolition, pile driving, and sheet pile driving shall not occur during the following time periods:

  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM weekdays
  • 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM weekends

Additionally, ground mounted sound barrier wall installation shall not occur during the following time periods:

  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM weekdays
  • 7:00 PM Friday to 7:00 AM Monday

Tips on Getting Around During Construction

  • Allow For Extra Travel Time – Allow more time to reach your destination due to detours and lane closures

  • Buckle Up - Wearing a safety belt is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes
  • Pay Close Attention – Signs and work zone flaggers save lives
  • Turn on Your Headlights – Workers and other motorists must see you
  • Don’t Tailgate – Unexpected stops frequently occur in work zones
  • Don’t Speed – Note the posted speed limits in and around the work zone
  • Keep up With the Traffic Flow – Dedicate your full attention to the roadway and those traveling around you
  • Don’t Change Lanes in the Work Zone – The time saved just isn’t worth it
  • Minimize Distractions – Avoid changing radio stations and using cellular phones while driving in the work zone
  • Expect the Unexpected – Keep an eye out for workers and their equipment
  • Be Patient – Remember the work zone crewmembers are working to improve your future ride.
