The public information team will post weekly updates and lane closures/traffic information to help the community get around the construction.

Week of December 7, 2018 to December 14, 2018 

Segments A & B - I-75 from NW 170 Street to South of Miramar Parkway

  • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Snake Creek Canal will be closed Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One ramp lane in each direction of Florida’s Turnpike from Okeechobee Road to I-75 Interchange will be closed Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Florida’s Turnpike from Red Road to the I-75 Interchange may be closed Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Florida’s Turnpike from I-75 Interchange to Okeechobee Road may be closed Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to Florida’s Turnpike on-ramp will be closed Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Miramar Parkway will be closed Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13. The northbound lane will be closed from 8 p.m. to 4 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of I-75 at Florida’s Turnpike may be closed Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Three lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida’s Turnpike may be closed nightly 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, December 2 through Thursday, December 6.
  • One express lanes in each direction of 75 Express from Miramar Parkway to Miami Gardens Drive may be closed nightly 9 p.m. Friday, December 7 to 5 a.m. Sunday, December 9.
  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Miami Gardens will be closed 9 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 to 5 a.m. Saturday, December 8.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Miami Gardens Drive may be closed Friday, December 7 through Thursday, December 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and or 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to NW 170 Street may be closed Friday, December 7 through Thursday, December 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and or 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to NW 170 Street may be closed Friday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and or 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One southbound ramp lane of I-75 at Florida’s Turnpike may be closed Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and or 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • The southbound lanes of 75 Express between Royal Palm Boulevard and Miami Gardens Drive will be closed continuously beginning 4 a.m. Saturday, December 8 until 5 a.m. Monday, December 10. During this closure, motorists wishing to travel southbound on 75 Express between Royal Palm Boulevard and Miami Gardens Drive will be detoured to continue south on I-75.
  • The southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike between Red Road and Snake Creek may be closed 11 p.m. Monday, December 10 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, December 11. During this closure, southbound Florida’s Turnpike motorists wishing to continue south will be detoured to exit at Red Road (Exit 43), travel north on Red Road to Miramar Parkway, west on Miramar Parkway to I-75, then south on I-75 to take the exit ramp to Florida’s Turnpike (Exit 5).

 

Construction Lane Closures/Detours‚Äč

FDOT will make every effort to minimize impacts to motorists on the road, but it will be necessary to close travel lanes at various times and locations to complete the project-related work safely.  The lane closures will be subject to change based on weather or unforeseen circumstances and will be posted regularly for the community.

In general accordance with local noise ordinances, construction activities including demolition, pile driving, and sheet pile driving shall not occur during the following time periods:

  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM weekdays
  • 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM weekends

Additionally, ground mounted sound barrier wall installation shall not occur during the following time periods:

  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM weekdays
  • 7:00 PM Friday to 7:00 AM Monday

Tips on Getting Around During Construction

  • Allow For Extra Travel Time – Allow more time to reach your destination due to detours and lane closures

  • Buckle Up - Wearing a safety belt is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes
  • Pay Close Attention – Signs and work zone flaggers save lives
  • Turn on Your Headlights – Workers and other motorists must see you
  • Don’t Tailgate – Unexpected stops frequently occur in work zones
  • Don’t Speed – Note the posted speed limits in and around the work zone
  • Keep up With the Traffic Flow – Dedicate your full attention to the roadway and those traveling around you
  • Don’t Change Lanes in the Work Zone – The time saved just isn’t worth it
  • Minimize Distractions – Avoid changing radio stations and using cellular phones while driving in the work zone
  • Expect the Unexpected – Keep an eye out for workers and their equipment
  • Be Patient – Remember the work zone crewmembers are working to improve your future ride.
